Two teachers in the Escondido Union School District are suing administrators for forcing them to lie to parents, which goes against their religious beliefs.  Present-day transgender policy seems to view the child as a ward of the state and the parent as an enemy.  This is indeed true under the little-known doctrine of parens patriae, which operates under the radar within our current legal system.
