Leprosy, a ravaging skin condition also known as Hansen's disease, was once feared by the entire world.  Lepers were forced into total isolation, often as children.  Today, it is no longer a threat, easily treatable in its early stages, and not contagious.  Back then, no one knew this.  Think of how many people today know that Covid is not contagious and not a threat.  Will this awakening ever get traction and spread?
