Quoting the author, Lena Groeger:In the last few years pharmaceutical companies have agreed to pay over $13 billion to resolve U.S. Department of Justice allegations of fraudulent marketing practices, including the promotion of medicines for uses that were not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Here are summaries of some recent large settlements.
A billion is "a thousand million." One million times a thousand. That's a lot of money. That these companies can pay these amounts at all gives an indication of what kinds of profits they are making.

Flight Attendants and Parkinsons Disease
It seems that women (and men) who were flight attendants in the earlier decades of intercontinental air travel are developing Parkinsons disease, a neurological disorder of the muscles (tremors, stiffness, increasingly limited movement). Those assigned to return flights from tropical countries were instructed to spray airplane cabins with insecticides, a practice that continued into the 1990s. Chemical exposure, especially in tight, unventilated areas (e.g., airplane cabins) can have devastating long-term effects on the body. Former stewardesses are filing lawsuits against the airlines they worked for. Read more here and here and here.
The 1950s brought us state-sponsored spraying of DDT to combat the spread of polio and infantile paralysis. See the news footage below, showing children sprayed with clouds of the stuff while eating lunch and bathing in swimming pools.
Syngenta Pesticide and Homosexuality
A University of California chemistry professor, Tyrone Hayes, discovered that atrazine, a pesticide made by Syngenta and sprayed on much of the country's corn crops, as well as on golf courses, has feminizing effects on amphibians. Among these effects are males growing ovaries and laying eggs, and males mating with other males. Hayes talks about the retaliation he experienced, including direct and sinister threats of harm to him and his family, once his research was published.
Kit Walker: Straw Man is the Ego
Wow! Here's a very unusual, very deeply probing article by a musician who is also up on the nature of corporate fiction, AND is a brilliant thinker as well. A classically trained pianist and composer, see Kit Walker's website here, but do explore his blog as well. His piece entitled "The Strawman is the Ego: The Parasite Cleanse Begins at Home," has insights into our entanglement with our corporate fiction that offer a whole new way to think about what we're doing.
Quote: If you are concerned about the encroaching corporatism that is enslaving humanity and destroying the planet, and you want to be effective in helping to stop this, then your Strawman is the place to start, because it is the corporation that you are supposed to think is you. Yes, that's right, "you" are a corporation. The parasite cleanse begins at home, by taking responsibility for your "corporate self."
Movie producer Bill Windsor, age 66, is being held at Ada County Jail in Idaho, with bail set at $4.1 million. Why? He disappeared in February 2015 while on a road trip, presumably tied to his film project "Lawless America," intended to expose the horrifically corrupt American judicial system. Read the full article here (thanks to Health Impact News) ... Someone needs to finish the film!
