For some reason, the FBI maintains that "no one died until 5:13 a.m. when the SWAT team arrived." This statement makes no sense at all, unless this was an exercise and the SWAT team was late in arriving on the scene. It could be that the SWAT team was a makeshift team, and volunteers for the exercise had to be coordinated. The SWAT portion of the drill would bring in the "violence"; thus "no one died" until they got there.
Were the many phone calls Omar Mateen was making about trying to get some direction because SWAT had not arrived? Was everyone stuck in the nightclub for three hours waiting for the SWAT team part of the drill? All good things to ponder.
